By the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit and are, therefore, as true witnesses of Christ, challenged to live more fervently their catholic faith. Preparation for Confirmation is a two-year process according to policy of The Diocese of Honolulu. Candidates in both public and parochial high schools are required to complete a two-year Confirmation Process under the direction of the Parish.

Since the goal is to form Christian Community among the candidates, it is believed that two years is the optimum time for candidates to pray, learn, share, worship, and serve together. Candidates in 9^th, 10^th, and 11^th grade will begin this two-year process with Confirmation Candidates of Sacred Heart/St. Pius X parishes at Sacred Heart Church on Wilder Avenue. Pastoral sensitivity necessitates that 12^th grade candidates be given an abbreviated but thorough formation in preparation for Confirmation. The schedules and detail requirements will be given at the respective formation sessions.
